Fair season asks for a hat with some theater in it. This black women's Cavalier arrives dressed: a leather band with a silver buckle and a hat feather, set on heavyweight cowhide. The brim reaches 4 1/2 in and the crown climbs to 5 in, a proportion straight out of an old court painting. A Velcro sizer in the sweatband adjusts the fit. It is assembled in the USA. Add a laced bodice or a velvet cloak and the costume is close to finished.
