Not every costume wants to look sinister. In brown cowhide, the women's Cavalier leans toward explorer more than villain, the kind of character who knows every captain in port. It is unbanded, so you can add your own feather or pin later. The 4 1/2 in brim casts a wide shadow and the 5 in crown keeps the silhouette tall. A Velcro sweatband sets the fit, and the hat is assembled in the USA. Try it with olive, cream or rust layers for a warmer palette.
