MyHatFinder is a website that helps you find the right hat: one that fits your head, your plans and your budget, without wading through a hundred tabs. The Hat Finder asks up to seven quick questions and scores real hats against your answers, and the size tool turns a tape-measure number into your size at each store.
You answer a few questions in the Hat Finder, or browse a hub like cowboy hats or straw hats. We show hats that match, using the store’s own product data: material, brim width, crown, color and which sizes are in stock today. When you find one you like, you click through and buy it from the store, at the store’s price.
What we focus on
Cowboy hats and straw hats come first, because that’s what most people come looking for. Felt and straw cowboy hats, cowgirl hats, sun hats, Panamas and wide brims are all here, with sizing and care guides to go with them. More hat types follow as more stores join. We focus on shoppers in the United States.
What we won’t do
We don’t invent star ratings, review counts, “tested” claims or discounts. If a store’s data doesn’t include something, we leave it out instead of guessing. Our editors’ takes on individual hats are labeled “Researched, not tested,” because that’s what they are.
How we make money
When you buy through a store link on MyHatFinder, the store may pay us a commission. It doesn’t change your price. Our launch store, American Hat Makers, is our Preferred Brand. We picked them for their range, guarantee, returns and shipping, not for payment, and we label them everywhere they appear. The full details are on our affiliate disclosure and how we rank pages.
Who writes the guides
Four editors run the desks: Cody Hale on cowboy hats, Walt Mercer on felt, fit and care, Jessica Reyes on women’s hats, and Margo Lane on straw and sun hats. Meet the editors.
