Oatmeal tweed is a pale, warm beige with darker flecks, like your favorite wool sweater turned into a hat. It's an easy light-colored felt for guys who want something softer than silverbelly. The Cattleman setup stays the same: midweight felt of Australian wool, a 4 1/2 in crown, a brim of 4 in, and a buckle in silver on the felt band. SM, MD and LG, velcro sweatband. Imported.

Cody's tip: Light tweed hides little marks well, but keep it away from the coffee cup. Breakfast-colored doesn't mean breakfast-proof.

How should it fit?
Level on your head, about a finger above your eyebrows, clearing the tops of your ears. Sizes in stock run SM to LG. SM fits heads 21 to 21 7/8 in (54 to 55 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, size up and add an insert.
Can you wear the Cattleman in summer?
You can, at night shows, weddings and anywhere air-conditioned, but felt runs warm on a hot afternoon. Tradition puts felt from Labor Day to Memorial Day and straw in between, per Resistol.
Does it pack flat?
The store doesn't list it as packable, so don't fold it. Folding can leave a permanent crease. Wear it when you travel, or set it crown down in the overhead bin.
How do you clean the Cattleman?
Brush felt with a soft hat brush, counterclockwise, and lift lint with a barely damp cloth or a lint roller. Keep it away from heat, which can shrink felt, and store it on its crown so the brim keeps its shape.
