Chocolate brown is the workhorse color of the felt world. It hides dust, goes with every pair of boots you own, and never looks like you tried too hard. This Cattleman has a 4 1/2 in crown, a 4 in brim, and a felt self band fastened with a silver buckle, all in midweight Australian wool felt. Fall and winter is its season. SM to XL with an adjustable velcro sweatband. Imported.

Cody's tip: Set it on its crown on the counter, never flat on the brim. A flat brim is a sad brim.

How should it fit?
Level on your head, about a finger above your eyebrows, clearing the tops of your ears. Sizes in stock run SM to XL. SM fits heads 21 to 21 7/8 in (54 to 55 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, size up and add an insert.
Can you wear the Cattleman in summer?
You can, at night shows, weddings and anywhere air-conditioned, but felt runs warm on a hot afternoon. Tradition puts felt from Labor Day to Memorial Day and straw in between, per Resistol.
Does it pack flat?

How do you clean the Cattleman?
Brush felt with a soft hat brush, counterclockwise, and lift lint with a barely damp cloth or a lint roller. Keep it away from heat, which can shrink felt, and store it on its crown so the brim keeps its shape.
