Yes, it's green, and yes, it's named after a pepper. Jalapeno tweed is a speckled green felt that looks great with brown leather, tan canvas and faded jeans. The bones are classic: Australian wool felt at midweight, a cattleman crown 4 1/2 in high, a brim measuring 4 in, and a silver buckle fastening the felt band. It'll start conversations at the feed store. SM, MD and LG, adjustable velcro. Imported.

How should it fit?
Level on your head, about a finger above your eyebrows, clearing the tops of your ears. Sizes in stock run SM to LG. SM fits heads 21 to 21 7/8 in (54 to 55 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, size up and add an insert.
Can you wear the Cattleman in summer?
You can, at night shows, weddings and anywhere air-conditioned, but felt runs warm on a hot afternoon. Tradition puts felt from Labor Day to Memorial Day and straw in between, per Resistol.
