Gray is the most practical color in an athletic closet, and steel matches most of it. This women's Cabana is a covered sun hat in polyester, fabric and mesh, at 3 3/4 in tall with a 2 3/4 in brim. AHM credits it with a 50 sun protection rating and resistance to water. A fabric band with a badge circles it, and the velcro sizer adjusts. It comes in SM through XX.

Margo's tip: For long walks in full sun, pair it with sunglasses. The brim covers the face; your eyes still need help.

Which size of the Cabana should I get?
Measure your head where the hat sits and match it to the chart. SM fits heads 21 to 21 7/8 in (54 to 55 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. XX fits heads 24 3/8 to 24 7/8 in (62 to 63 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, American Hat Makers says to size up and use the foam insert it includes.
Is the Cabana UPF rated?
Yes. The store lists a UPF 50 rating. The Skin Cancer Foundation says UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun's rays. Sunscreen still goes on the bits the brim misses.
