A black sun hat looks sharp with white linen and stripes. This women's Cabana is a covered sun hat in polyester and fabric with mesh, standing 3 3/4 in with a 2 3/4 in brim. AHM gives it a 50 sun protection rating and calls it resistant to water. The fabric band has a small badge, and a velcro sizer inside lets you loosen it over a ponytail. Sizes go from SM to 3X. Assembled in the USA.

Margo's tip: Loosen the velcro before you put it on over a low ponytail, then snug it once it's seated.

Which size of the Cabana should I get?
Measure your head where the hat sits and match it to the chart. SM fits heads 21 to 21 7/8 in (54 to 55 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. 3X fits heads 25 to 25 5/8 in (64 to 65 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, American Hat Makers says to size up and use the foam insert it includes.
Is the Cabana UPF rated?
Yes. The store lists a UPF 50 rating. The Skin Cancer Foundation says UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun's rays. Sunscreen still goes on the bits the brim misses.
