Coal is a dark charcoal, softer than black and easier to wear with gray and navy. The Summit pairs lightweight wool felt with top grain leather in a safari-style crown, 3 3/4 in tall, over a 2 3/4 in brim. A leather band with a buckle runs around the base. Inside, an adjustable drawstring tightens the fit. It's assembled in the USA and comes in MD and LG. Felt is a cooler-weather choice, so wear it with a wool overcoat or a field jacket.

Walt's tip: Brush the felt counterclockwise with a soft brush to lift dust, and keep the leather parts away from heat.

Measure your head where the hat sits and match it to the chart. MD fits heads 22 to 22 3/4 in (56 to 57 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart.
