Golfers and anglers spend hours standing still in full sun, and a pale hat at least looks cooler while they do it. Eggshell is an off-white that pairs easily with khaki and navy. Inside the polyester and lightweight mesh shell sits a liner you can soak before heading out. Expect a 3 3/4 in outback crown and a 2 3/4 in brim. Per the tag, you get a sun protection rating of 50, water resistance and an adjustable chin cord, plus a braided band with a tassel and a Velcro sweatband that comes out. Assembled in the USA, sizes SM up to 3X.

Margo's tip: Light hats show sweat lines first, so take out the removable sweatband and rinse it after a long day.

How should it fit?
Level on your head, about a finger above your eyebrows, clearing the tops of your ears. Sizes in stock run SM to 3X. SM fits heads 21 to 21 7/8 in (54 to 55 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, size up and add an insert.
Is the Soaker UPF rated?
Yes. The store lists a UPF 50 rating. The Skin Cancer Foundation says UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun's rays. Sunscreen still goes on the bits the brim misses.
Does it pack flat?
