Plain brown leather is the hat equivalent of a good pair of work boots. This Sierra uses mid-weight brown cowhide below and nylon mesh up top, and the brown version wears a braided leather cord around the base. The outback crown is 4 in tall, the brim 3 in, so it fits in a tractor cab and under a barn door. Velcro sweatband inside. Sizes run SM to XL, and it's assembled in the USA.

Cody's tip: If you're between sizes, go up and add a sizer strip. A tight leather hat is a headache with a brim.

How should it fit?
Level on your head, about a finger above your eyebrows, clearing the tops of your ears. Sizes in stock run SM to XL. SM fits heads 21 to 21 7/8 in (54 to 55 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, size up and add an insert.
