Buffalo leather is the heavyweight of the hat world, at least in attitude. The Badlands puts it in black on a cattleman crown that sits 3 3/4 in, low and squared off, with a matching 3 3/4 in brim. Up front is a diamond concho, there's a native inset on the band, and deerskin tails hang off the back. Leather takes wind and rough days in stride but runs warm in summer heat. MD to XL with an AHM velcro sweatband, assembled in the USA.

Cody's tip: A low crown can sit too far down if it's loose. Fit it a finger above the eyebrows and use the velcro to dial it in.

Level on your head, about a finger above your eyebrows, clearing the tops of your ears. Sizes in stock run MD to XL. MD fits heads 22 to 22 3/4 in (56 to 57 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, size up and add an insert.
Where would you wear the Badlands?
Casual western days: rodeos, barbecues, rides and concerts. Take it off for the anthem and at the table, and set it down on its crown.
