Every traveler seems to own khaki shorts, a utility jacket and a white tee, and olive straw sits right on top of all three. Woven from paper Panama, this safari hat rises 4 1/2 in at the crown and spreads 3 1/2 in at the brim. Its trim stays minimal: one slim cord that knots in a loop, plus a small decorative concho. Inside, the Velcro sweatband tightens or loosens as needed. Two sizes, S/M and L/XL. Imported. Put it on the list for a national park trip, a walking tour or a long lake weekend.

Margo's tip: If a summer shower catches you, let the hat dry naturally on its crown, away from heaters.
