Black straw is rarer than the usual sand and cream, and it carries over from an afternoon walk to dinner without looking like beachwear. The Zanzibar is woven from paper Panama into a safari crown 4 1/2 in tall, with a 3 1/2 in brim that covers your face and starts to reach the neck. The band is a simple cord, closed with a loop knot and finished with a decorative concho. An adjustable Velcro sweatband sits inside. S/M or L/XL, imported.

Margo's tip: Dark straw shows dust before anything else. A soft brush once it's dry takes care of it.
