Most black felt hats need a hat box and a prayer to survive a road trip. This one is crushable wool felt and listed as packable, so it can ride along in a bag and still show up looking like trouble. The western crown stands 4 1/4 in over a 3 1/2 in brim, and a stitched band of tooled faux leather wraps the base. Sizes run SM to XL. Felt is your cooler-weather pick, so think late-season rodeos, bonfires and long drives with the heater on. Imported.

Cody's tip: When you unpack it, punch the crown back out from the inside and let it rest on its crown overnight. It'll forgive you.
