Some hats whisper. This one leans on the bar and orders whatever's strongest. Black wool felt, a cowboy crown at 4 1/4 in, and a 3 1/2 in brim that's wide enough to matter but still clears a pickup door. A braided cord of faux leather wraps the crown, with a brass crosspiece up front, and there's a moisture wicking sweatband inside. Felt is your cooler-weather and evening hat, so this is for fall rodeos and dark-sky concerts. Sizes MD to XL, imported.

How should it fit?
Level on your head, about a finger above your eyebrows, clearing the tops of your ears. Sizes in stock run MD to XL. MD fits heads 22 to 22 3/4 in (56 to 57 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, size up and add an insert.
Can you wear the Sequoia in summer?
You can, at night shows, weddings and anywhere air-conditioned, but felt runs warm on a hot afternoon. Tradition puts felt from Labor Day to Memorial Day and straw in between, per Resistol.
Does it pack flat?
The store doesn't list it as packable, so don't fold it. Folding can leave a permanent crease. Wear it when you travel, or set it crown down in the overhead bin.
How do you clean the Sequoia?
