White straw is the crispest thing you can put on your head in July. This Medellin is soft genuine Panama straw in white, shaped as a fedora with a 4 in crown and a 3 in brim, banded in grosgrain ribbon. The velcro sweatband lets you fine-tune the fit, and it comes in SM, MD and LG. It looks right with navy, seersucker or a pale blue shirt at a beach wedding or a yacht-club lunch.

Margo's tip: Take it off indoors at the table. A white hat resting on an empty chair is still the best-dressed thing in the room.
