A real Panama is woven from toquilla palm, and that's what this one is: lightweight, soft and natural in color. The Caracas is a fedora with a 4 in crown and a 2 1/2 in brim, trimmed with a 1.5 in grosgrain ribbon and a crosspiece. It belongs with a linen suit or a pale blazer at a summer wedding. The AHM velcro sweatband adjusts the fit. MD and LG are available. Imported.

Margo's tip: Pick up a Panama by the brim with both hands, front and back. Pinching the crown of soft palm over and over leaves marks.

Measure your head where the hat sits and match it to the chart. MD fits heads 22 to 22 3/4 in (56 to 57 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart.
