Our take · Researched, not tested
A single bright blue star on a small magnetic pin. The magnet backing holds it to a hat or a piece of clothing without piercing anything, so you can move it around until it sits right. Blue reads well against tan, white and silverbelly hats, where it has some contrast to work with. On a navy hat it would mostly disappear.
