Mesh sides on an outback are a simple idea: air comes in where the crown would otherwise trap heat. This khaki hat is nylon with mesh panels at the sides, a 4 in outback crown and a 3 in brim. A chin cord of wax cotton, locked with a plastic toggle, holds it in place on a boat or a ridge, and the sweatband is moisture wicking. Sizes run MD to XL. It's imported. Fishing, hiking and yard work all suit it.
