If you only buy one cowgirl hat this year, black is the safest bet, and the Pioneer keeps it casual with a canvas-and-cotton build. Up top is a cattleman crown that rises 4 1/2 in; out front, a 3 3/4 in brim; around it all, a doubled black cord. The sweatband stretches thanks to elastic. There's even an XS alongside S/M and L/XL, handy if most hats sit too low on you.

Measure your head where the hat sits and match it to the chart. XS fits heads 20 to 20 7/8 in (52 to 53 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. L/XL fits heads 22 7/8 to 23 5/8 in on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, American Hat Makers says to size up and use the foam insert it includes.
