Putty is a pale gray-beige, lighter than khaki and quieter than cream. On the Pathfinder it colors wool felt shaped into an outback with a 4 in crown and a 3 in brim. A faux leather band runs around the crown and finishes in tails. The velcro sweatband adjusts. It's in XL right now. Wear it on a cool spring morning with a denim jacket, or in early fall with a light sweater.

Margo's tip: Light felt picks up smudges, so handle it by the brim with clean hands and brush it gently after wear.
