If you want one hat that can sit through a windy picnic and a muddy farm stand, black leather is a sensible start. The women's Crusher is lightweight cowhide with an outback crown at 4 in and a 3 in brim, wrapped with an oiled braided leather band. The chin cord adjusts, which helps on a boat or a breezy hill.
