Tan sits right between cream and brown, so it hides trail dust without looking dark under the sun. The Barcelona's tan version is vented canvas in an outback shape, 4 in at the crown, with a 3 1/2 in brim. Its protective sealant makes it stiff and adds weight. The embossed faux leather band carries a brass button, and the chin cord has a toggle. It comes in MD, LG, XX and 3X with an elastic sweatband.

Margo's tip: Pull the toggle up only when the wind asks for it. The rest of the time, let the cord hang behind.

How should it fit?
Level on your head, about a finger above your eyebrows, clearing the tops of your ears. Sizes in stock run MD to 3X. MD fits heads 22 to 22 3/4 in (56 to 57 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, size up and add an insert.
