A cream straw cattleman is basically the official summer uniform at any arena worth its dirt. The Austin is midweight firm straw with a 4 1/2 in cattleman crown and a 4 in brim that keeps the sun off your nose and neck. The faux leather band carries conchos and braided lace, with tails hanging off the side for a little swagger. Elastic sweatband, sizes SM through XL. Imported.

Cody's tip: Pick it up by the crown pinch, not the brim edge. Straw brims hold grudges.

Measure your head where the hat sits and match it to the chart. SM fits heads 21 to 21 7/8 in (54 to 55 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. XL fits heads 23 5/8 to 24 1/4 in (60 to 61 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart. Between sizes, American Hat Makers says to size up and use the foam insert it includes.
