Brown leather has a habit of picking up character with wear, and a cap gets worn more than any other hat. The Sidecar is lightweight brown cowhide in the classic ball cap shape, with a 3 3/4 in crown and a 2 3/4 in bill. Inside, a sewn-in twill sweatband. No band, no logo, nothing to date it. It's one size and imported. Wear it with a flannel and work boots, or a canvas jacket on a crisp morning. Leather runs warm in summer heat, so fall is its season.

Walt's tip: Hang it on a peg by the back or set it on its crown. Tossing it on the seat creases the bill over time.
