A ball cap is the most worn hat in the country, and most of them are cotton. This one swaps in lightweight black cowhide leather, which gives the familiar shape a sharper edge. The bill is 2 3/4 in, the crown 3 3/4 in, and a sewn-in twill sweatband lines the inside. There's no band or trim. It's one size and imported. Leather handles wind and rough days well but runs warm in heat, so it does its best work in fall and on cool evenings with a jacket.

Walt's tip: Wipe it with a soft dry cloth after rain and let it dry naturally, away from a heater.
