The cotton on this outback has been distressed, so it starts life looking broken in. A tall safari crown, 4 3/4 in, sits over a 2 3/4 in brim, which is trim for an outback and easy to wear in a car or a crowd. The tan cotton gets a faux leather trim, and the sweatband is moisture wicking. Rule of thumb: a short brim shades your eyes, and only a wide one reaches your neck. It comes in MD and is imported.

Margo's tip: Pair it with sunscreen on the neck and ears. A 2 3/4 in brim keeps sun off the face but leaves the back on its own.
