Our take · Researched, not tested

Coffee-colored paper braid with a wide brim. Shade, served dark roast.

Coffee is a deep brown that looks rich next to cream, white and gold. On the Mynah it's a paper braid mix with a round 3 1/2 in crown and a wide 4 in brim, left untrimmed so the color does the work. An inner drawstring adjusts the one-size fit. Bring it to the beach, a garden tour or a lazy afternoon on a balcony.

Margo's tip: Add your own ribbon or a hat band if you want some color. An untrimmed straw is a blank page.

Questions

What size is the Mynah?
The store lists it as one size, which it describes as one size fits most. If you measure at either end of the size chart, a fitted hat in your size may sit better. A foam insert can take up a little room.
Is the Mynah UPF rated?
The listing doesn't state a UPF rating, so don't assume one. The 4 inch brim still gives real shade. Hold it up to a bright light: if light shows through, so does UV.
Can you travel with the Mynah?
Wear it on travel days. It isn't listed as packable, so it shouldn't go folded in a suitcase. On a plane, set it crown down in the overhead bin with nothing on top.
Can this straw hat get wet?
A light shower is fine; a soaking can loosen the weave and the shape. If it gets wet, reshape it with your hands and let it dry at room temperature, crown down, away from heat.
What if it doesn't fit?
American Hat Makers states 90-day easy returns (per American Hat Makers, as stated on their site Nov 6, 2026). Check the store's current policy before you buy; its page is the final word.
