Our take · Researched, not tested

A tiny gray longhorn that rides on your hat by magnet.

By Walt Mercer, felt, fit and care desk Pen name, fact-checked by our team

Small and gray, this longhorn pin attaches with a backing magnet, so it holds to a hat or a piece of clothing without leaving a pin hole. Gray is quiet, which suits anyone who wants a Western nod that doesn't shout. Put it on the band of a felt hat in winter and on a denim jacket when the hat stays home.

Walt's tip: Take pins off before you rest a hat on its crown in storage, so nothing presses into the band.
