A cream straw with a thin black ribbon is about as easy to dress as a hat gets. This women's Chase is handwoven toquilla, the same straw behind classic Panamas, shaped with a cowboy curl. Its 4 1/4 in brim covers a fair stretch of face and shoulders, and the 4 1/2 in crown keeps the proportions balanced. The sweatband adjusts with Velcro, and the hat is imported. Wear it to a garden wedding, a summer concert or a vineyard afternoon with a sundress or white jeans.

Margo's tip: Rest it upside down on its crown when you set it down, so the curl in the brim keeps its shape for the whole season.

Measure your head where the hat sits and match it to the chart. SM fits heads 21 to 21 7/8 in (54 to 55 cm) on American Hat Makers' chart.
