Our take · Researched, not tested

Peanut butter canvas. Yes, that's the color. Yes, it works.

By Cody Hale, cowboy hats desk Pen name, fact-checked by our team

Somebody at AHM named this color peanut butter, and honestly, it fits. It's a warm tan duck canvas cap, six panels, structured, with a low profile and a 2 3/4 in brim. Up front there's a woven patch with raised embroidery, out back a leather patch, and inside a moisture-wicking sweatband. Snapback closure. The printed verse inside is Philippians 4:13, with All things possible. One size. Imported.

Cody's tip: A tan cap and a white tee is the easiest outfit in the world. You're welcome.

Questions

What size is the Carpenter?

The store lists it as one size, which it describes as one size fits most. If you measure at either end of the size chart, a fitted hat in your size may sit better. A foam insert can take up a little room.

Is the Carpenter enough for sun?

Not on its own. A cap or peak shades your eyes but leaves your ears and neck exposed, as MD Anderson points out. Add sunscreen, or pick a brimmed hat for long days outside.

Can you wash the Carpenter?

Check the care label on the store page first. Most fabric hats take a gentle hand wash in cool water and air drying on a bowl or balled towel so the crown keeps its shape. Skip the dryer.

Can you return it?

Per American Hat Makers, as stated on their site Nov 6, 2026, it offers 90-day easy returns. Policies change, so confirm on the store's page before you order.

Do you sell this hat?

No. American Hat Makers sells it. The store button opens their product page, and we earn a commission if you buy, at no cost to you.
