Leather fedoras have a different temperament from felt. They're tougher, darker and less formal. The Balboa is midweight cowhide in black, with a pinch front crown of 3 3/4 in and a narrow 1 3/4 in brim. The band is faux leather with crosspiece conchos. A brim that small offers little shade, so think of it as a city hat for cool, windy days. The AHM velcro sweatband lets you adjust the fit, and LG is the size in stock.

Walt's tip: Leather can dry out. Wipe it with a clean cloth after rain and let it dry away from the heater.
