This stretcher pairs a redwood body with a metal turnbuckle. Set inside a stored hat, the wood draws moisture out of the sweatband area while the turnbuckle holds the size you set. If a hat has tightened up on you, turn the buckle a little and it can ease the fit back out. It is an old design, and it has stayed around because it works.

Walt's tip: Stretch in small turns over a day or two. A hat gives better when you're patient with it.
