Our take · Researched, not tested

For the hat that keeps trying to leave without you.

By Walt Mercer, felt, fit and care desk Pen name, fact-checked by our team

A black chinstrap you can add to your hat order. The listing is short on detail, so here is what we can say plainly: it is a black chinstrap, sold as an add-on, in one size. A strap is the old answer to wind, horseback and open trucks.

Walt's tip: Snug the strap under the chin only as far as it takes to keep the hat seated. If it's doing all the work, check the hat's size against our size chart.
