Our take · Researched, not tested

A bright yellow feather to wake up a plain hat.

By Walt Mercer, felt, fit and care desk Pen name, fact-checked by our team

This is a natural feather in bold yellow, listed at about 5 1/2 in wide and 8 in long, though each one can vary. Yellow looks lively against black, navy, gray or natural straw. Tuck it into the band and the hat gets some cheer. It's imported.

Walt's tip: With a feather this size, angle it back along the crown so it doesn't stick out past the brim.
